The Commodity Exchange, Inc (COMEX), is an exchange for trading metals. Commodities such as gold, silver, copper, and aluminum. In 1994 The COMEX merged with The NYMEX and became the primary platform for trading metals. COMEX is open, has hours of operation and trading hours that are the same as The NYMEX. Futures trade from 6pm EST - 5pm EST, Sunday through Friday, with a 60-minute break each day beginning at 5pm EST. In 2008 is was bought out by CME Group.
